Chimera Corps

The Chimera Corps have no official tie to the Marshal, but they were the American government’s latest attempt to recreate the success they had with the super-soldier program he was a part of. While they had no more of the alien DNA used to create him, they still had the process. So, they decided to cherry pick attributes from the lifeforms of Earth to create the closest thing to a Marshal-level super-soldier as they could. While they haven’t been able to come close to his level of power, they have been able to engineer some pretty powerful people. When the Marshal found out about this redo of his project, he stepped in and took them under his wing, so to speak. Because the DNA that was used to create them was derived from Earth-based DNA, the survival rate for the splicing was much, much higher than in the Marshal’s case. Eighty percent of the subject initially dosed with this new version of super-soldier retrovirus survived. With so many to take under his wing, the Marshal has spread them out, one to a city. He has provided them with instruction on how to use each other as an intelligence gathering network and backup should they face issues they can’t handle on their own. Like the Marshal and his understanding with the League of Power and the United Nations, each member of the Chimera Corps has an official agreement with their host city, only meant to step in on criminal situations that the local authorities can’t handle. Their powers are derived from various plants and animals around the world. They have web-shooters, primarily derived from spider-webbing, but also modified with enhanced venom glands, so that they can shoot the webbing out at will. They have super strength, agility, endurance. They can endure environments ranging from the emptiness of space to the depths of the ocean. Their sensory capabilities are extremely varied, ranging from echolocation to infrared and ultraviolet visions, to magnetic field sensitivity. Their webbing is conductive to electricity, which is good because all their muscles are electric generating organs, like an eel. They can push out small hairs all over their bodies at will that can both detect changes in air currents as well as stick to things like a gecko. They also have a range of chromatophores and bioluminescent cells throughout their skin, for both communication purposes as well as stealth purposes. They are extremely versatile, and while they are very strong and often very capable in combat, they’re adapted to stealth and information gathering and agility more than anything else.
